Sell on Facebook Live by preparing coded items and a stock list before you go live, taking one claim per buyer during the stream, and sending one payment message with a deadline afterwards. Ship only after you have confirmed the money in your own bank or GCash account, not from a screenshot.
Why most sellers still do it by hand
Meta's official Live Shopping tool is no longer available, and seller-tool guides note it was never officially launched in the Philippines. Most Filipino sellers therefore run a Live the same way: show the item, buyers comment "MINE" with an item code, and the seller follows up in Messenger.
That works for a small stream. It breaks when many buyers claim the last piece within minutes, when comments scroll past, and when payment proof arrives as screenshots across several chats.
Before you go live
- Write a stock list. One line per item: code, name, size or color, price, quantity. Do not sell more than you have.
- Give every item a short code such as A01, A02. Show it on screen, not just in your voice.
- Decide how you get paid. Your bank or GCash details and QR code, ready to paste. See how to accept bank transfer and GCash.
- Set a payment deadline, for example 24 hours after the Live.
- Pin a comment with the rules: how to claim, the deadline and how to pay. A template for this is in live selling rules.
During the Live
- Show the code and price for every item, and say how many are left.
- First valid "MINE + code" wins. Say the buyer's name out loud and write it next to the item.
- If the item is gone, say "sold, next in line is Maria". Keep a short waitlist.
- Keep one running sheet: buyer name, code, quantity, status. A shared spreadsheet is enough to start.
- Do not take payment details in the comments. Send them privately afterwards.
After the Live
Match claims to stock
Go through your sheet and fix any double claims before you message anyone.
Send one message per buyer
List their items, the total, how to pay and the deadline. One clear message beats five short ones.
Collect proof in one place
Ask for the receipt and the order name together, so each receipt is tied to one order.
Check your bank or GCash, then mark it paid
A screenshot is not proof that money arrived. Open your own account and confirm the amount. See how to spot fake receipts.
Pack and ship, then release the unpaid
When the deadline passes, give unpaid items to the waitlist.

Common mistakes
- Shipping on a receipt screenshot. Always confirm the money first.
- Selling more than you have. Count stock before the Live and after each claim.
- No deadline. Unpaid items sit idle and block honest buyers.
- Payment proof scattered across chats. Hard to match, hard to audit.
- Using a personal account for business money. Keep a separate account so you can see what each Live made.
When comments and Messenger stop scaling
If you spend more time matching receipts than selling, give buyers one place to order and pay. A store gives each order a number, holds stock, and keeps the receipt with the order. You do not need to leave Facebook: your page and your Lives stay as they are, and the store link goes in your pinned comment.
We are building free first stores for Philippine startups and Live sellers. See the free store offer. Our app POPLoad attaches payment receipts to orders and checks them for duplicates and edits. It is in Shopify's app review and not yet on the App Store.
FAQ
Can I still sell on Facebook Live in the Philippines?
Yes. Seller-tool guides report that Facebook Live still lets you stream and take orders manually through comments and Messenger. Meta's separate Live Shopping tool is no longer available. Check Meta's current Commerce Policies for anything that applies to your page.
What does MINE mean in live selling?
Buyers comment "MINE" and usually an item code to claim an item. Most sellers treat the first valid comment as the winner.
How do I stop buyers from not paying?
Set a clear deadline before the Live, pin the rules, send one payment message per buyer, and release unpaid items to a waitlist when time is up.
How do I check a GCash or bank transfer is real?
Open your own bank or GCash account and confirm the amount arrived. Do not rely on a screenshot. See our guide on spotting fake receipts.
Do I need a Shopify store to live sell?
No. You can run Lives with comments and Messenger. A store becomes useful when volume grows and you need order numbers, stock counts and receipts in one place.
Want a store that works with your Lives?
We build and hand over a first Shopify store for Philippine startups and live sellers. You keep your Facebook page and your Lives.
